The band was born as the up coming creative stage from the project “Solomin-Band”. “DomRa”performs their personal tunes as properly asarrangements of the Ukrainian people songs by Victor Solomin, who outstandingly performs the domra, an instrument seldom used in jazz. The band brought with each other two exceptional musicians — the special domra participant, composer Victor Solomin, and a very younger singer Anastasia Druziuk. Victor and Anastasia dwell with 1 thought of the band which makes its abnormal design by combining genuine folk songs, jazz and rock. “DomRa” took portion in many intercontinental and Ukrainian festivals. Although making modern arrangements, Victor Solomin carefully handled the archaic substance and managed to keep the traditional Ukrainian melos and add new energetic beats and prosperous stirring harmonies. For reference: Domra is an historical Slavonic stringed instrument, first talked about in literatureback in the 15th century. Dom Ra can be interpreted as the Home of the Sun, because the god Ra was current in historical Slavonic and Egyptian mythologies. Victor Solomin is the only musician actively playing jazz on the domra.
